About us
Run by people who've been there.
We're a peer-run non-profit. That's not a slogan, it's the operating model. The people who answer the phone and run the houses are in recovery themselves.
Our mission
"We are a passionate, peer-run, non-profit organization. Our mission is to remove barriers associated with access to Recovery Housing."
What "removing barriers" means in practice.
Most of what keeps people out of recovery housing isn't the person. It's the barriers. Intake fees they can't pay. Houses that reject anyone on M.A.T. Mothers forced to choose between a bed and their kids. Records that scare landlords off.
So we built the houses around removing those barriers:
- No intake fees, and your first two weeks are free
- M.A.T. is welcome. We don't gatekeep medication
- Mothers and children stay together in Mommy & Me
- We take people straight from jail, prison, and court-ordered programs, and work with their POs
Certified, not just well-meaning
Dream Chasers Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our housing is certified by Ohio Recovery Housing, the state affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, and by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Ohio requires that certification for a house to operate as recovery housing. Certification means independent standards for safety, ethics, and how residents are treated, checked by someone other than us.
Where we operate
We own and operate houses across Hamilton and Butler counties in greater Cincinnati, plus Hedger House in Dayton, serving Montgomery County.
